Mea Culpa

Hey folks,

Here’s the deal. It’s been quiet here the last week because the rest of my life has been about as not-quiet as it gets over the last couple of weeks.

I’m an honest-to-god teacher now for the first time in my life. I’m at a brand-new school and I’m overprepping because I’m an insane perfectionist and I’m terrified that I’m going to botch the whole thing. I’m a week in now, so I’m feeling a little less insane, but I’ve been spending pretty much every waking moment living this new job. I want it to be perfect. I want it to be the best it can possibly be and I worked myself into a cold, which is finally breaking.

I’m also a supervisor at my other job now, which has been fun. That program revved up in the last week too, which meant that there was insanity. Extra hours, extra crazy.

And I spent Saturday in the office. I had what ended up being somewhere between an 80- and 90-hour workweek. It was brutal.

So yeah. Totally my fault that things have ground to a halt here. So I wanted to give you a sense of what’s happening in the coming week.
